Voting Question: What color should i choose for kitchen countertops?
My husband and I really want to make-over our out dated kitchen, but we really dont have the money to do so right now, the rest of the house is pretty contemporary and we want that to flow in the kitchen as well. Right now we have white/yellow metal cabinets, white walls, a light gray laminate countertop, and a light gray tile floor with white ceramic tiles as the backsplash. I have been doing some research on how to update the countertops and backsplash without spending a lot of money. We plan to paint our cabinets black with silver hardware, we have stainless steel appliances and want to put stainless steel sheets to cover up the existing tiles on the backsplash. Now on to the countertops.. I plan to do a faux granite finish but i cant decide on what color to choose. Should i choose a dark color? stick in the gray color? or do a completely different color from a different color palette? We also have a very open floor plan and Im having difficulty choosing a wall color that matches my living room paint color which is dark red and our dining room color which is a tan color. I can picture it in my mind, i just cant get past the countertops! I’m also open for painting the other rooms or different ideas.

I have a smaller sized kitchen 10×11 and I’m thinking of updating it. Since I just bought the house I am broke so I am just planning for now. I want white cabinets but since the rest of my house is done in a contemporary style, I am wondering what colors I should be looking at for countertop and appliances. Most of the pictures I find of white kitchens are in traditional or country styles.

Both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are centrally located in the valley, so no matter what area of Big Bear you live in, the slopes are just a short jaunt away. If you live in Southern California and want a real ” White Christmas “, Big Bear is the only place to be.

If the snow is sparse for the year, the resorts have their snow-making machines pumping out fresh powder around the clock. When the snow piles up on the roads, you might get a little worried about getting around in your car. But never fear, the city is on the case and clearing traffic before you’re even ready to step foot outside in the morning.

Big Bear is the right place for those who love all four seasons. Our summers are warm and sunny, but not to warm like some other cities in Southern California. Big Bear Lake is awesome for fishing, bike riding and trail adventures. Most of our recreation areas are open to the public. Big Bear Lake’s water use is also public unlike Lake Arrowhead which has limited access.

We have two public launch ramps on the North Shore where you can launch your boat free of charge and enjoy free parking while you spend your day on the lake. Fisherman? Big Bear Lake is an excellent spot to catch fish. The lake is stocked on a regular basis and is full of nice, plump fish.

Big Bear Lake, California is a true mountain paradise. I could go on all day about all the things I love about the lifestyle, people and culture up here. It is just a heart-warming place to call home.
